Statkraft Turkey carries out activities that support a global transition towards a low-carbon climate-resilient economy by providing renewable and sustainable energy solutions.
Information security, quality, energy, environmental, health and safety policies are in line with group guidelines and documents provides a framework for the management of information security, quality, energy, environmental, health and safety throughout Statkraft Enerji A.Ş., Kargı Kızılırmak Enerji A.Ş., Çakıt Enerji A.Ş. organisations (hereafter referred to as “Statkraft Turkey”). It applies to:
- All those with access to Statkraft Turkey information systems and involved to Stakraft Turkey business activities, including employees, visitors, contractors and consultants.
- All information (data) processed by Statkraft Turkey information systems regardless of whether it is processed electronically or in paper (hard copy) form.
Quality and Energy Management Policy
Statkraft Turkey carries out activities that support a global transition towards a low-carbon climate-resilient economy by providing renewable and sustainable energy solutions. Statkraft Turkey promotes continuous improvements to its operations that yield increased productivity, quality and the overall sustainability of electricity production through its facilities. Statkraft Turkey corporate mission is to provide pure energy. In pursuit of this mission, Statkraft Turkey is committed;
- To provide electricity to the customer without creating any imbalances in order to protect all stakeholder interests,
- To ensure high efficient electricity generation by managing its power plants with operational work excellence,
- To manage and to put our investments into operation in the most efficient way
- To using energy in the most efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible manner possible.
- To reduce operating expenses and increase profit by actively and responsibly managing energy consumption
- To provide the best possible environment for employees, while simultaneously maximising energy performance
- To investigate the use of energy efficient technologies
- To procure (where possible) energy efficient products and services and employ design for energy efficiency and energy performance improvement
In order to achieve all these goals Statkraft Turkey supports collaborative strategies and the participation of all employees. Statkraft Turkey will conduct activities in line with the national and international regulations, standards and ethical rules which are in force in the area of its activities.
Quality and energy management will play a key role in Statkraft Turkey’s organization, across all business functions. It will support Statkraft Turkey’s ambition to maximize profitability, strengthen its reputation, and provide customer with the highest quality of services. Its efforts to increase energy efficiency and reduce its carbon footprint will also support its commitment to its employees, the environment, and the communities in which Statkraft is a part.
Statkraft Turkey will endeavour to meet or exceed the quality and energy management objectives.
Statkraft Turkey is committed to provide the required resources for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving quality and energy management systems.
This policy shall apply to all of Statkraft Turkey power plants, business units, employees and contractors in service to its organization. This policy will be regularly monitored by adequate KPI’s to ensure that the objectives are achieved. It will be reviewed and, if necessary, revised in the light of legislative or organizational changes.
Corporate responsibility and HSE
Statkraft is committed to act in a sustainable, ethical and socially responsible manner. Statkraft carries out activities that support a global transition towards a low-carbon economy by providing renewable and sustainable energy solutions. We have safe operations where people, communities, the environment and our assets are protected. In Statkraft, no activity is important enough to be conducted with hazard to life and health.
To operationalize these fundamental commitments, we base our work on globally supported initiatives and standards.
As a member of the United Nations Global Compact, Statkraft complies with its 10 principles on human rights, labour rights, environment and anti-corruption. Statkraft also takes guidance from the principles contained in the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, which cover major areas of business integrity, including human rights, environment, information disclosure, combating bribery, competition and taxation. Statkraft assesses and manages its social and environmental impacts in compliance with the principles of the International Finance Corporation’s Performance Standards on Social & Environmental Sustainability, which include specific requirements on working conditions, pollution control, community health, safety and security, involuntary resettlement, biodiversity conservation, indigenous people, and cultural heritage.
Statkraft Turkey will conduct activities in line with the national and international regulations, standards and ethical rules which are in force in the area of its activities.
Statkraft Turkey manages quality, energy, environmental, occupational health, safety and security issues in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001, 50001, 14001 and Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001, which provide management system frameworks aiming at working systematically with these issues and at ensuring continuous improvement.
Statkraft's corporate responsibility reporting is based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reporting guidelines, which set out principles and indicators that allow to measure and report economic, environmental and social performance. Statkraft’s reporting is verified by an external third party.
Information security policy
This Information Security Policy has been established by top management in order to sustain and protect confidentiality, availability and integrity of Statkraft Turkey’s and stakeholder’s corporate information, information systems and business processes. Statkraft Turkey acknowledges that the corporate information owned by Statkraft Turkey or its stakeholders is a valuable asset. The corporate information and its location are crucially important to our business activities and need to be protected. The Information Security Management System (ISMS) is to be implemented throughout the Statkraft Turkey organisation and aligned with regulations, physical security practices, IT security practices and business continuity planning.
Statkraft aims to protect the 3 common information asset characteristics:
- Confidentiality: Protecting information from unauthorized parties.
- Integrity: Protecting information from being modified by unauthorized users.
- Availability: Making the information accessible and usable to authorized and relevant person.
Violation of any of these characteristics may cause disruption of business activities and irreversible impact on corporate reputation. In addition, the loss or unauthorised disclosure of information may result in financial loss. Information security risk assessments should be performed for all information systems on a regular basis in order to identify key information risks and determine the controls required to keep those risks within acceptable limits. In order to meet these goals and conform to best practice, Statkraft is committed to implement an information security management system and the security controls as set out in the ISO/IEC 27001. Top management is also committed to provide the required resources for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system.
The Information Security Council is responsible for governing information security in Statkraft Turkey. Country Manager chairs the Information Security Council. Information Security Manager is responsible for the organisation of activities and resources ensuring that the requirements for confidentiality, integrity and availability are supported throughout the organisation. Department heads are responsible for information security within their departments. They must ensure that the department has a local information security policy to meet its own particular needs, consistent with the requirements of this overarching policy. All the employees, suppliers and consultants regardless of their mission and position should conform to this Information Security Policy and related security policy and procedures. Any unconformity to corporate security standards will be accepted as policy violation and processed according to disciplinary procedure.
This policy and all other supporting policy documents shall be communicated as necessary throughout the organization to meet the objectives and requirements.
